Troubleshooting and Common Questions

This document answers common questions users may have while working in Strateon. It complements the User Manual and focuses on access issues, project context, datasets, simulations, allocations, and overrides.

I cannot see any projects

Your account may not have project access yet, or the project list may not have loaded. Try refreshing the page. If the issue continues, contact your Strateon administrator.

I opened Datasets or Allocations and the page asks me to select a project

These pages require project context. Return to Projects, open a project, and then navigate to Datasets or Allocations from the project sidebar.

I cannot create a simulation because there are no datasets

Create or import a dataset first. Open the project, go to Datasets, create a dataset, and then return to Simulations.

Which dataset should I use for a simulation?

Use the official dataset when you want to run from the current source of truth. Use an alternative dataset when you are testing a scenario or validating new data before promotion.

What is the difference between making a dataset official and updating allocations?

Making a dataset official selects the trusted input dataset for the project. Updating allocations imports selected simulation results into the official allocation workspace. They are related but separate decisions.

What is the difference between simulation overrides and allocation overrides?

Simulation workspace overrides are used while analyzing simulation result behavior. Allocation overrides are applied in the official allocation workspace and affect the project allocation records by date, well, and layer.

Why is Manual Override disabled?

Manual Override requires valid allocation percentages. Ensure each fluid column sums to 100 percent and that required dates, project, well, and comments are provided where applicable.

Why should I add comments when merging or overriding?

Comments explain why an allocation decision was made. They help reviewers, auditors, and future users understand the reasoning behind official allocation changes.
